Add Ripe as a Segment Destination to sync your customer and event data in real-time.

Connection modes

There are two ways to send data to Ripe via Segment.

🌍 Ripe Web Destination

Required*

Enable core features and stream front-end events

☁️ Ripe Cloud Destination

Optional

Stream back-end events

  • Web (Device) mode: Your sources include additional code on your website or web app which allows Ripe to use the data you collect on the device to make calls directly to the Ripe API.

  • Cloud mode: Your sources send data directly to the Segment servers, which then translate it for each connected downstream destination, and send it on.

Add Ripe as a destination to a source in Segment

To add Ripe as a destination in Segment:

  1. Log in to Segment

  2. Navigate to Connections

  3. Click Add Destination

  4. Search for Ripe and Ripe Cloud among the destinations and click Configure Ripe

  5. Select the source you want to connect to Ripe

    1. For Ripe Destination, the source should be a web app* *Note: This is a Required step to get started

    2. For Ripe Cloud, the source should most likely be your backend server.

  6. Click Next

  7. Give your Destination a name. Log in to Ripe, copy your Ripe API key, and insert it.

  8. Click Save

  9. Enable your destination by flipping the toggle at the bottom
